Pamela M. Levin Jewelry Designer Nivell Jewelry_head shot.jpeg

Pamela M. Levin, designer of Nivell Jewelry, personally crafts sterling silver and leather jewelry with unusual semi-precious stones mined from all over the world. Small batch production guarantees attention to detail, excellent quality, and often one-of-a-kind specialicious pieces. Her newest leather collection brings bold colors and textures to leather jewelry using many luxurious Italian leathers, kidskin, lamb, fish leather, and genuine alligator. Pamela’s refreshing style exudes simple elegance by transforming her materials into smooth, modern, and clean lines.  The designer firmly believes even the simplest of designs can provide a dramatic statement for you.

The fashion on the streets of New York City had a big impact in shaping Pamela's outlook in the world and her collections because she was raised so close to its influences in Long Island, NY. Her father was a manufacturer for 35 years in New York's garment industry. She worked with him for a couple of summers in his Brooklyn factory, learning manufacturing up close, and reading Women's Wear Daily, the famous garment trade publication. The industry fascinated her and lead to a six month internship  in a buying office in New York's Garment Center while attending Drexel University. After graduating, she was employed with an IBM business partner who was an enterprise software developer for the apparel and footwear industry. Pamela's interaction with her clients gave her a very comprehensive,  deeper appreciation and understanding of manufacturing. Visiting a factory to witness fabrics, leathers,  buttons, and zippers come together into beautifully finished shoes or clothing was always an extra thrilling day for her.

In addition to the manufacturing foundation, Pamela was surrounded by visual art talents in her immediate family too. Her father's avocation was as a painter and sculptor, which included creating a three foot strawberry for the backyard! She also viewed the art projects, portfolios, and work of her two older sisters who studied textile and interior design. Pamela enjoyed trying the traditional mediums of art, but initially decided to follow her desire to be in the business world. Pamela’s artistic roots inspired her to begin formal training in the technical aspects of jewelry design. Establishing her jewelry studio at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DE Contemporary) in 2000 for two years, commenced Pamela’s serious pursuit of designing and creating contemporary jewelry.
